Senior Partner Robert M. Henstridge is a veteran litigator with 37 years of trial experience, focusing his practice on complex cases.
His personal injury practice centers on products liability, commercial liability, and major injury matters. He served as one of the lead defense lawyers in a massive products liability lawsuit venued in Palm Springs that arose out of a tragic bus accident that took seven lives and severely injured numerous others. While other defendants paid in excess of $45 million in settlement, Mr. Henstridge’s client paid nothing. He has also developed an expertise in mold contamination and sick building litigation.
Mr. Henstridge has represented a multitude of developers and subcontractors in various construction defect cases involving architectural, structural and concrete issues. He has specialized his practice in concrete ‘chemical attack’ cases for the last twelve years. Although he strives for resolution of these complex matters through pretrial ‘ADR’ (Alternative Dispute Resolution), he has successfully defended construction clients in cases tried in Orange County Superior Court. In one of the first construction defect trials held in the Orange County Superior Court, Mr. Henstridge received a defense verdict for his client, a high-profile lightweight concrete installer.
Throughout his 37 years as an attorney Mr. Henstridge has also had excellent results in the handling of several complex contract issues, including those related to intricate partnership agreements, real estate cases and corporate matters.
Mr. Henstridge serves as Judge Pro Tempore and Arbitrator in the California civil court system and has served as a private mediator. He is also a member of the Southern California Defense Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, The Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel and is admitted to practice before the federal courts. He obtained his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1976, became associated with the firm in November 1977, and became a full partner in 1980.
